As a REALTOR, seems to me that getting inside a different perspective (that of the client) is a valuable skill... Let me know what you think...as in this verse written on Memorial Day.
I remember today the young people.
For thousands of years they have gone off to war,
surrendered their lives for the advantage of others,
And have not wavered on the way.
I think about the human drama- where we fit in.
I wonder what would happen if we could find the place, in all of this,
where stillness flows as it does when we sing at the altar,
as it does when twilight settles in.
Where is that stillness that comes from open hearts,
that stillness that dissolves the rage and the clatter?
Where is that stillness that drowns out the sounds of battle,
keeps the lives of sons and daughters safe?
If only we could turn to the great trees,
so alive as they stretch to greet the light before the coming winter days,
ask them to reveal the secret of quietude,
let their whisper run through the pounding voices of war,
so that within the angry chant, the life roots of energy might appear
as an infant, and breathe, and love,
and let each one of us see,
that the blood we shed belongs to all of us...........

Wind-in-the-Feather

And that vision will stem the flow....
Gorgeous picture! I'd like to have your skills --
As I look at the picture I can see a couple of different things, both brought on by the words in your beautiful poem
1. At first glance, it is a tree top in the moonlight
2. The closer I look and contemplate your words I see the roots of a tree/plant under a (very large) microscope
We all need to take a look at the big picture then take a deep look within ourselves -- the blood we shed DOES belong to all of us --
YOU! deserve a star!

...your descriptions of the graphic made me smile...I really like both of them. It's quite something when we see things from the perspective of other living things...soo often we look at trees as "objects"...they give us shade...they are in the way of our view...but if we could get inside the "essence" of a tree, we might find a whole new way of experiencing the world.
As a REALTOR, seems to me that getting inside a different perspective (that of the client) is a valuable skill... Let me know what you think.
Lysa~
Thank you for saying that, Lysa. There's a whole "other place" to find ...maybe one day we human beings will grow tired of the fray...(???)...and begin to look for it.....
Jeff~
I just responded to Lysa's comment...and now, as I read ours, I think what you say bears repeating...especially since it is so broad-ranging...You commented, "... a different approach to get them properly empowered to go to the next step..."
That stillness for me comes from faith in God and prayer. This is a great post janeAnne.
Lola~
THANK YOU for your comment. Much appreciated, and likewise to YOU ~^~
janeAnne -- You opened your post with a very important concept: looking at things from another perspective.
WANTED: Fresh Perspective. Apply Within. Introduces a series of articles about just that. I encourage everyone interested in improving your relationships with your clients to check it out. Our perspective molds our reality. Nothing else in this world can alter our reality like a change a change of perspective can.
Jane Anne,
How enchanting is your poem, and the graphic you created!
My stillness comes from surrendering to the God of my Faith. "Be Still and know that I am God"
In this surrendering I become transformed by "the renewing my mind"and gain a new perspective by "fixing my eyes not on wordly things, but on things which are above"
Peace,
Ginger
Carole~
You underscore one of the thoughts I had while writing the verse...as you say "...sometimes people need help seeing things through 'different eyes'..." Sometimes, unless we make the time to look at all the perspectives, we can miss the "Big Picture"...
Michele and Ginger...~ and ~
Amen and THANK YOU soooooo much!
Jeff~
Yes...we are in the same business as the trees...reaching for a bright place...with roots firmly planted in the solid ground of experience and our fiduciary duties...THANKS for this expansion on the theme.
