Your Second Home from a Numbers Perspective

 

What’s the first step when you are ready to invest in a second home?  Some say it is “crunching the numbers” and we agree- to a point. But, we would like to expand on that: It is not just the $$$ numbers, but the numbers of years the second home will be held; the number of miles to the nearest college, grocery store and hiking trails; the number of homes and size of them.

It is all about perspective.

 

In fact, we think getting the “numbers” on the table is crucial for clients considering a vacation or second home purchase.

Otherwise, a happy dream getaway could turn into a nightmare.  

We have developed an investment home checklist. This can help our clients identify features and benefits of homes from that perspective of “numbers.”

Gathering data about recent sales in the neighborhood is part of the scenario.  Planning for long-term enjoyment can mean buying a place that's big enough for a growing family.

The number of bedrooms and baths may be important. ,And how many miles is it to recreational opportunities or to events that may accommodate evolving interests. A property with a view may cost more, but if you are looking at the numbers, it can also boost the value of the property in the long run.
