Pond at the Mountain Pass on this Wordless Wednesday in Asheville NC

Pond at the Mountain Pass

You give wing to my heart,
as you ripple there,
a surprise, apart,
between the grasses
of October
and the hard rocks
of this Blue Ridge mountain pass,
frosted over.

 Sweet creature,
you quench a traveler's desire
to rest by your side
as you appear, renew
transform the trees to sculpted spires
and luminous light-spheres.

Oh mountain pond,
forever you shall wander through my mind.
as I return to you
time after time,
to seek repose
in your azure world
that glows
in mirrored images,

janeAnne - what a great photo ... reminds me of some of the wonderful Black Mountain locales and quiet sections of the Parkway!  But ... I like this ... best of all:

There's a Rainbow of Pure Possibility
in Mountain Homes and Land Legacies in Asheville, North Carolina.

and the accompanying photo .... GREAT job!
