Asheville's Green-Built  Homes in the Mid Range ($250-300K) retain their value into the future because buyers appreciate the quality of construction, that there will be fewer maintenance issues, and that the demand for such sustainable innovation in low -impact, high performance homes is high.

Currently, there are five (5) WNC Healthy® Built Homes for sale in Asheville. See my earlier post for five(5) more such homes in the “affordable housing” price range.  Here is a breakdown by Price and Living Space

The  NC HealthyBuilt Homes is a statewide green building program for sustainable innovation. It is administered by the North Carolina Solar Center, and supported by the State Energy Office, Home Builder Associations, and other professional building organizations.

NOTE: Of particular interest to Eco-Friendly buyers in the Asheville real estate market is the involvement of the  WNC Green Building Council (WNCGBC) and the Asheville Home Builder Association

janeAnne - It is wonderful to see that green building is still going strong.  We are not having much in the way of new construction farther west of you but I am sure it will turn around soon!

The NAR GREEN Designation is gaining momentum. You may look into that in your neck o' the woods. It could be helpful for you and our colleagues to get the word out on the features and BENEFITS of a green-built home...and that includes Green Rehabs!
