Historic Neighborhoods- Albemarle Park (Asheville NC)

Asheville’s Historic Neighborhoods Homes- Albemarle Park (Asheville)

Asheville is proud of our sustainable neighborhoods, a number of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

To the north of downtown,  North Asheville’s sustainable neighborhoods include: Albemarle Park, Beaverdam, Beaver Lake, Chestnut Hills, Grove Park, Kimberly, Montford, Norwood Park, and Reynolds Mountain. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places are the Montford Area Historic District, Chestnut Hill Historic District, and Grove Park Historic. Montford and Albemarle Park have been named local historic districts by the Asheville City Council.

What of the value-added  factor? A home for sale in one of Asheville NC’s sustainable  neighborhoods listed on the National Register of Historic Places Travel Itinerary   could be considerable. Experience shows that such homes are always in demand, and frequently hard to find.  Take for example historic homes in one of my all-time favorite historic neighborhoods,

Manor Albemarle Park Asheville Historic NeighborhoodAlbemarle Park. As I noted in an earlier post on this neighborhood, it is both is charming and elegant neighborhood with curving roadways and stately trees, an Arts & Crafts neighborhood, was built around the site plan designed by Samuel Parsons Jr., the landscape architect of New Yorks Central Park.

Every home in the neighborhood has a distinctive architectural style. Walk with me through Albemarle Park  and you will see “cottages”  that show Italian, French and Swiss influences as well as Georgian Revival, Appalachian, and Adirondack architectural styles.

Hi -

Yes -, "listed on the National Register of Historic Places Travel Itinerary " is something but it can be very restrictive if one wants to make any improvements to the home.

Just another point ...

Have a happy day -
Lynn

PS Thanks again for your assistance with the Asheville client search ...

I'd love to walk that neighborhood with you. May I suggest a video? - I'll bet it's gorgeous this time of year. I'd so love to see more of it! Thanks for whetting our appetites with this one janeAnne.  I'm going to take your link to an earlier post and find out more.

Hi janeAnne, historic neighborhoods or even just plain older neighborhoods seem to be enjoying new interest and popularity and for good reason.  Old charm is hard to duplicate!

janeAnne,

I love that you point the inherent value of being in the National Registry, and people who love historical homes have a kinship and a dedication to preservations.  It is always a delight to view historical neighborhoods.  Thanks, A

Silvia~ Old Charm sure is hard to duplicate!!! Speaking as an oldie-goldie, I can attest to THAT~ (I'm grinning)

Alexandra~ There is a "feeling" of excellence..possibly attributable to the quality of detail and workmanship not to be found in somany homes of today...
