Aging-in-Place- Boomers Have a Plan

Aging-in-Place- The Great Boomer Plan Ahead-

According to the National Association of Home Builders, demographic trends- boomers and others-  indicate that home owners who plan to stay in our  homes (age-in-place) as we  get older instead of making other housing accommodations are one of the fastest growing segments in terms of  remodeling.

What is "aging-in-place"?

In plain English, aging-in-place means living in one’s home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age, income or ability level. It means the pleasure of remaining in a familiar environment throughout one’s maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives. It means the reassurance of being able to call a house a home for a lifetime.”

The design features zero-clearance walk-in access and hand-held shower head appropriate for aging-in-place, although...

I think this feels  more like Aging-in-PALACE©- a "wow” shower-for kids, parents, and grandparents. How about you? Let me know what YOU think.

Great suggestion .For me it's going to be about moving to another home and aging there!  My husband and I already found our dream location and we're letting tenants pay off the mortgage until we're ready to take over!

that is a bathroom I'd want to keep for life too :-)

Wow.  That sure is a shower that would make me want to stay home, too!   So often, though, the elderly folks need to retrofit an old, tired home in an attempt to avoid the sticker shock of skilled nursing facilities or being a live-in burden on family.  Sure would be fine if more people could live their elderly years where a bathroom like that is available.
