How REALTORS® see a property in terms of innovative living solutions can open the way to possibility. For example: What if, given the trend toward a preference for “human scale” design the real estate professional’s very approach to a property changes? I consider this as I wander down the streets of a neighborhood in the process of gentrification in Asheville .... noted for being a top retirement town.
So many boomers love the idea ofplanning for and then living, working and/or retiring in a location where the atmosphere of a neighborly village is tangible- regardless of age or physical ability.
Given the boomer home choice trend toward “aging-in-place”
-I call it Aging –in-Palace©- in my tiny eBook-
(see cover below)
In fact, the village-concept is getting lots of attention these days. The concept, though it appears innovative to some, is as old as the hills. There can be safety and comfort where caring people gather. But the boomer generation, and those born just before boomers, the “Lucky Few,” may exert a strong influence not seen in the past.
Boomers seek active adult communities (villages) that take into good account the needs of people who are dismissing aging stereotypes. From a “community limo” – for transportation to the doctor’s and grocery shopping, to shared organic gardens, to yoga, wellness programs, hiking/walking groups, to social and educational events and outings the neighborly village
promises a happy, sustainable solution to home living arrangements...and fun.
