So I've been pretty "star struck" with discovering "trends" we could well take stock of lately. Here's my latest fascinating news. HEY! This is as good as getting on great snow before all the other skiers, and flying down the mountain while it's pure white and almost untouched. You'll see why I'm using the ski analogy in a second....
A "weekly primetime destination
focusing on environmental topics"
is due to launch in 2007.

Here is a STAR, Redford Redford, who not only is creative, talented, handsome...but generous...and he has a clue when it comes to "green trends" the future. His SUNDANCE RESORT outside of Provo, Utah offers cultural amenities, gorgeous scenery, the best Sunday Brunch I've ever had. And now, this exciting news: The launch of the upbeat and inspirational Sundance Channel with the kind of programming that makes you smile.
According to Grist, the new channel will "present original series and documentary premieres about the earth's ecology and concepts of 'green' living that balance human needs with responsible environmental stewardship."
Programming: Original Series: Change Agents: a high energy, story and character-driven documentary series about the people and projects that are on the front lines of environmental sustainability and innovation.
(That could be US!)
Interstitial Series: Sundance Channel will launch several interstitial series that will highlight a range of environmental issues and offer viewers innovative suggestions to effect change in their own lives.. Documentaries: The block will feature compelling feature length documentary premieres and news specials on environmental subjects. "
According to ENN, the Online Network the series will provide the big-picture context to each week's stories and " will offer practical tips for living a greener life in each of the 13 episodes and more information including solutions and resources will be featured on a mini-site on sundancechannel.com. " "In addition to this original series, the three-hour Sundance Channel GREEN block will include documentary film premieres and accessible interstitial pieces about the earth's ecology, concepts of green living that balance human needs with environmental stewardship, and pieces on celebrity activists and environmental advocates. The destination is designed to be both informative and entertaining, with an emphasis on information, practical advice and community building. "
Obviously my AR colleague over at the ECO-friendly Green Scene, Dena Stevens was right when she commented on my blog on trend-tracks..."The green wave is moving fast. In my opinion those who do not take hold are going to be left behind.

Hi Janeanne:
One of the shows the Sundance Channel will be playing when their Green Channel gets up and running is "Its Not Easy Being Green! a BBC production. To learn more about this you will have to see my BlOG! Thanks for the info.
P.S. I went in search of a BBC series..."It's Not Easy being Green" and found this: http://www.itsnoteasybeinggreen.org/
"To live a 21st century lifestyle but to produce little or no waste and to remove our dependence upon fossil fuels". We did a lot of research and it took us a long time to find the facts we needed to make our decisions. This website is to help others heading off on the same journey.
This is not an official BBC website, it's a personal record of the Strawbridge family and we hope that you find it useful and that you will join the forum to share your experiences.
Arlene...Thanks for your comment. Got me thinking....Besides Robert Redford, there are a number of "greenies" who are also stars...Brad Pitt is a notorious Tree Hugger, fopr example. On his BLOG, Simon Robinson says, " By no means comprehensive, but entertaining none the less. Stars love to appear green: it can't do their careers any harm. But how green are they? Leo DiCaprio comes out best in this survey of some of the biggest names in Hollywood . I'm slightly disappointed that there are no bonus points for running your own biofuels firm. Other Actor Activists are: Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone, Kevin Bacon, Patrick Stewart, and Joe Pantoliano . Actor and whale conservationist, Pierce Brosnan, has launched a personal and compassionate appeal to save the world's great whales, and has partnered with one of the world's leading conservation organizations, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW -- www.ifaw.org), to do so. Also Matt Damon and Cameron Diaz lend their names to the green cause.
Dena,Thank you! You made my day. And, keep watching. We've got some great episodes coming up!

Subject: Ecobroker
I just wanted to say I've now seen "Living with Ed" twice and enjoy the show. I am a Realtor in Pueblo Co with a certification as an Ecobroker. The movement toward 'green living' is exciting to watch grow. When people ask me what an Ecobroker is I can now tell them to turn on HGTV. I wish you much success and thank you for help educating the world at large.
