Asheville NC Understand the Land- Steep Slopes ETC- THEN Build

Asheville, NC Real Estate Land Brokers

Understand the Land 2013

It's been mighty wet around the mountainsides this summer. Luckily for many land buyers, they have been advised by Land Brokers (like our team) to consult with the appropriate experts before building on steep slopes. As I read the Asheville weather-related news this week, I couldn't help but be concerned as I came across this...

“We don’t know what’s going to hit us,” a steep mountain resident of Asheville said.
“We’re all kind of living on edge.”

Another resident, who lives on the same steep slope, said a Fire Department official
came to his home earlier in the week to warn him about the dangers up the steep mountain slope.

“He said a house is starting to slide, and if it continues to rain,
we’ll need to evacuate...this whole neighborhood is living in fear.”

For many, many years as Land Brokers concerned with sustainable excellence, we have been posting about the importance of understanding the land before building..Here are just  a few of our posts:

Hello Narrin Team.

This is sound advice, we have had 3 homes on hills, and we have always enlisted the help of a geologist.  Fortunately, they were all on a solid granite base, and the landscape held the hill really well even in the longest rain times.  We love hills and slopes.  A

JaneAnne, landslides sound indeed scary.  I'm always amazed when I see homes built on steep slopes, it would definitely be important to consult all the appropriate experts before breaking ground to build!
