"Boomers" on the Move

"Boomers" on the Move ~ YOUR Style

Any number of "boomers" and older adults seek information from our referral network for what they are calling their "Last Move" to  a "For Ever" home. In that regard,  there's much to think about. This, and posts to follow,  address some of the most common considerations/challenges.

Here is what people who are downsizing discuss with me.  If YOU are considering  downsizing from a family home to one where you can  experience, as I like to say,   Aging in P A L A C E -  (you can check out our best selling Sage Companion Project  booklet  in that subject at the link here or  below )- you may find these posts of interest.

Aside from referrals to helpful real estate and related professionals, you may be curious about other services that could be helpful .  Many people love the idea of a comfortable move. If you are one of those folks, you may want to know about the availability of  Helpful Services.

__  reviewing, identifying and engaging the "right" movers for us?
__   organizing "estate" sales, garage sales, taking stuff to donate or to  consignment shops?
__  sorting out stuff we want to move, donate, or sell?
__  inventorying our possessions (prized and not so prized) ?
__  packing/labeling things to be moved ?
__  keeping track of/collecting receipts for tax/other purposes?
__  coordinating details: utilities transfer, appliance disconnection, address changes, Internet/cable?
__  staging and/or home repairs prior to sale of our home?

Certainly such services are available in the Greater Asheville, N.C. area -(and we are happy to refer you to them.) But what about in your neighborhood?  We'd love to know if/when you have used them and how that worked for you in terms of your "LAST MOVE"...

I find that the boomers are not wanting that all inclusive  plan for their homes.   they want to be able to personalize   their home and not look cookie cutter

I often wonder if I'm already living in my "forever" home or not. Some days I'd like to think so, but other days I'm ready for a change, but the thought of selling is so daunting I don't know if it will happen.
